Codi's Story
The Codi Jordan Band was formed in 2008, and features rock-driven based songs written by Codi Jordan that combine elements of Reggae, Folk, and Hip Hop. Codi's songs have found steady rotation on Utah Radio Stations with a wildly expanding fan base. Front man Codi Jordan brought together 4 seasoned veterans in the Utah music scene to compliment his style and energy. Fans often refer to the style as high energy Jack Johnson, combined with the rawness of Sublime.
Codi was the kid that was playing guitar and singing country rock music with friends and then going home and listening to Snoop Dogg. He spent his teens playing in rock bands in Ogden, and used his free time during college at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City to play in Clubs, Bars, and events at the University of Utah. Upon graduating with a Bachelors Degree from the College of Planning and Architecture, Codi decided that the city life did not suit him and quickly moved back to his quiet hometown in Ogden Valley.
The band includes Codi Jordan on Guitar and Vocals, Mike Lee on guitars, Cameron Goldsberry on bass, and Dered Keith (DK) on the keyboards, and Johnny Knoder on drums. "The bad has played together for several years, so they have an amazing synergy. They feed off of each other, every change, every move, every nuance, it's amazing to listen to." The band opened for Spearhead, Black Eyed Peas, Blackalicious, The Roots, Royal Bliss, Kyle from Slightly Stoopdi, The Expendables and many other high profile bands. Their experience is invaluable, and they are the perfect compliment for Codi's style.
In true snowboard-bum fashion, Codi recorded his debut CD "Vacation" at DK Studios in Ogden between "good powder days," and "late night parties by the campfire". He hired DK to produce and engineer the album. DK has produced or engineered over 70 albums throughout the western U.S., for major indie artists, "it's great to have someone with experience like that on my team." Codi and Derek have since collaborated to write popular radio/tv commercials and original music and lyrics for other artist on major record labels.
After spending 6 grueling months in the studio, the Codi Jordan debut album "Vacation" is finally complete, and is receiving rave reviews from fans and industry professionals alike. CD sales and downloads are exceeding everyone's expectations the songs go right into the public's heart as the music spreads. The Codi Jordan Band (CJB) has been selling out venues in Utah, Nevada, and Idaho, and will be coming soon to an area near you!
